Where We are Going

• It is our heart's desire to see the Jewish exiles living in the Gondar Region of Ethiopia immigrate to Israel. Till then, we will continue to help the 30,000 Jews who live in rural villages among a total population of 60-100,000 people. Each small village of 75-200 people is segregated, either being Jewish or Christian. However, all of these regionally-intermixed Jewish and Christian villages are under the religious jurisdiction of Ethiopian Orthodox Church.

We help by:

• Providing for them physically (food, shelter, clothing, and medicine)

• Providing for them spiritually (visitation, materials, and prayer)

• Aiding in the development of the Gondar region (Jewish and Christian) economically by providing businesses and jobs.

• Reconnecting them to their Jewish roots and to the physical descendants of Israel.

• Helping some immigrate to Israel to reunite families.

Why We Are Going?

• Messianic Jews have a rich and long history of working in Ethiopia to help our people there.

• These Jewish villagers have great material and spiritual needs as they are living in poverty earning money only through farming and by making pottery.

• The Beta Yisrael are a persecuted people. In the eyes of their countrymen, they never lost the stigma of Jewishness. They are said by others to have the "Budda" (evil eye).
