Speech & Communication

Message from Dr. Robert I. Winer, President

Communication is perhaps one of the most important skill a person must master to accomplish much in any sphere of achievement. I was driven to want to improve my communication skills by coming to the realization that people were not able to understand where I was coming from--they could not hear my heart. It took me some time to understand that this was my problem, not the other guys. Once I recognized this I started my journey to changing my speech by applying the advice of Benjamin Franklin in his autobiography. I've included a description of this experience in a section from my book, "Ten Commandments for Success."

One word of advice: Improving your speech and communication skills is crucial but it's also very difficult. It takes lots and lots of practice. You must believe that you can change and determine to do it. Don't give up. It's worth the effort.
